Shawn “The Matrix” Marion at SHU! NBA Celebrity Makes the Crowd Swoon

The 2017 Cathay NBA Youth Madness Campus Tour arrived at Shih Hsin University. Shawn “The Matrix” Marion was invited to the event to answer students’ questions, share his life story and have a 24 seconds hoop-shooting game with some lucky audience members. It was not difficult to see that he still keeps his skills sharp even two years after retirement. The fans in the auditorium got to see Marion’s unorthodox shooting form, and his friendly personality created a great atmosphere.

Shawn Marion was welcomed by the faculties and students.

Cathay United Bank’s Assistant Vice President, Syu-Jie Yao started the event with a speech.

The NBA Taiwan’s Vice Chairman and General Manager Pei-Ming Gao encouraged university students to sign up for the 2017 Cathay NBA Youth Madness 3 on 3 basketball game.

The Campus Tour was hosted by the famous DJ Dennis

Marion shares the embarrassing story of him running to the wrong basket after rebounding the ball.

Though Marion has left the NBA 2 years ago, he still keeps his skills up.

Jhong-Hao Jian, sophomore in the SHU Department of Journalism, had an unforgettable experience even though he lost the game to Marion.

Marion taking selfies with the crowd increased the canaraderie.

The fans were ecstatic to get Marion’s signature.
